Not perfect, but worth it
The staff were friendly and accommodating! Dining experiences at the Ocean View and Trumps Bar were good, offering tasty meals and beautiful views!
Room quality was inconsistent. My cottage felt outdated, with chipped furniture and issues that detracted from a luxury experience.

The location was marvellous, really close to the sea, service was great, and the adjoining beach and grounds. It also was on absolutely everything including Spa. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and the room itself was beautiful. Variety of food for breakfast, which was appetising to satisfy everyone.

I liked the location and the scenery. The golf course was nice as well. The staff was very friendly. Crab sandwich and fish and chips was good at Darby's.
I was surprised to get a cellar for a room for the price that we paid. The hotel was relatively empty during our stay and we were placed in a room that had only one window that provided relatively little light, making me feel like I was in a dungeon. They did not replace the soaps/shampoos/lotions and the bathroom was already showing wear and tear. The heated towel rack was right by the toilet that I ended up almost burning my leg every time I sat down on the toilet. The TV was very small and the room was always hot. (couldn't adjust the thermostat downward). The waitstaff at Darby's was very slow in bringing the bill. The Irish breakfast at the Long restaurant was terrible (salty bacon and sausage, tasteless eggs).

The staff at the hotel were very welcoming and helpful. We were upgraded to a suite and it was beautiful and relaxing. We had dinner one night in the Long Room-fabulous food. Breakfast very good also. All in all a very relaxing 3 days-would love to return some day.
Spa and gym area a little small but still enjoyed the use of both.

Everything is so relaxing and comfortable , the decor is amazing and the food is to die for.
You had to go outside in rain to get to courtyard suites from hotel or restaurant. But this is minor as the whole place is fantastic.

Really good golfing experience.
I was disappointed with the check-in process, as we couldn't access our room until 6 pm, frustrating after a long journey. The lack of assistance with our luggage added to our stress. Coming back to our room at 5 pm only to find it still being cleaned was quite irritating and certainly not what I expected from a hotel of this caliber.

Excellent location and a fabulous 2 bedroom suite with good quality furniture and great views. Most of the staff were well mannered and helpful notably Keith and Michael of customer services and Sarah in the bar who were all exceptional. Food portion sizes were large which was appreciated.
The downside of this hotel is that it primarily caters for members. This means that the public areas are very limited in comparison to those dedicated as "members only". The result is a "second class" feel for what is otherwise a first class hotel.

Accomodation and facilities first class
Food quality and lack of a nice bar to have a drink a major drawback given price and otherwise high standards
